Belt on my turntable snapped, can I do this myself

platter just spins free now, no resistance at all. its an old second hand thing i got for cheap so im not scared of breaking it exactly, i just dont want to loose it completely. is this a beginner job? and how do i even know what size belt to order, theres nothing written on the old one edit: got the model number off the bottom, its a technics sl-b2. thanks

Unplug it, lift the platter straight up off the spindle (some have two little holes you put your fingers through), and youll see where the belt loops around the motor pulley. For the sl-b2 just search the model plus belt, theres a standard size and its a few dollars. Do not stretch the new one on tight, it should sit with a bit of give.
